In
this chapter we are able to identify the Kansas City Prophets, Paul
Cain, Bob Jones etc, (who Joyner fellowshipped with at the time),
as the few dreaded warriors he saw on his side at the start of his
first dream in 1995. The main subjects that this chapter will study,
however, are the various forms of spiritual warfare that Joyner’s
side engage in as they attempt to convert all the opposing Christians
to Joyner’s beliefs. Joyner’s side attempt to convert
other Christians against their will, by firing their new revelations
at them through the spiritual realms without these other Christians
even realising this is taking place. This parallels the way in which
people involved in witchcraft cast their spells toward others in a
bid to influence them against their will. What Joyner practices is
in fact controlling witchcraft. Not surprisingly Joyner sees very
few of the opposing Christians converting to his side because of this
warfare and instead claims that “We did wound many of our own
brethren,” (p. 129).
After these warfare strategies fail to give Joyner control of the body
of Christ another form of warfare is revealed to him. Joyner discovers this
as he reaches the very top of a spiritual mountain of new revelations. This
involves him commanding the spirits of people who have died to return from
heaven to earth to fight on his side’s behalf in a Christian Civil
War. Joyner believes that these spirits of the dead will finally give his
side victory and control of the entire church. These deceased people are
described as great white eagles. This, however, is spiritualism; it is completely
unscriptural and forbidden in the bible.
These eagle spirits of the dead also fan into flame new prophetic gifting
in some of the warriors on Joyner’s side, enabling them to know all
things about everyone they meet. These warriors then emerge as judges over
the entire body of Christ along with Joyner. At the same time the Christians
who continue to reject Joyner’s visions are removed from the body
of Christ so the judges can rule unopposed. According to Joyner’s
dream all men, including all unbelievers, will then flock into the kingdom
and submit to Joyner’s side’s government of the entire world.
Joyner and the judges then bind up Satan themselves without any mention
of Jesus Christ’s return to earth at His Second Coming. This delusional
hope is what motivates Joyner to engage in the previous harmful spiritual
warfare against Christians who reject his New Age form of spirituality.
Since Joyner was led in this direction by the dream he received back in
1995 it is likely that he has been engaging in these spiritual warfare practices,
in secret, ever since. There are also signs in the real world that Joyner
is already preparing to call upon the dead, the past deceased healing revivalists
of the last century, to return to earth which he believes will birth a healing
revival in our day. Joyner’s close companions Todd Bentley and Bob
Jones call upon some of these deceased Christian ministers already, (link
article). This all reflects a truly appalling and very dangerous level of
deception, a combination of witchcraft and spiritualism, in the lives of
Rick Joyner and his associates. Because of the ambiguous way in which “The
Final Quest” is written and presented, however, very few people notice
the full extent of these deceptions unless a careful detailed study is undertaken.
