i) Harmful spiritual warfare against other Christians: Joyner
summarises his main dream, (in Chapter 1), as a call from God for
his readers to focus,
in the end times, on fighting against other believers in “Great Christian
Civil War,” (p. 22), within the “church,” (p.
37). He states that “the Lord is now preparing a leadership that will be willing to
fight a spiritual civil war,” (p. 37). He predicts that those on his
side, called the “dreaded champions” (p.
56), will ultimately
win this civil war enabling a leadership of prophet “judges,” (p.128),
like himself, to start governing the entire body of Christ. Joyner predicts
that his side’s spiritual warfare will harm many of the Christians who
disagree with him even though Joyner’s side had hoped to recruit these
believers instead. He tells us, “We did wound many of our own brethren”,
(p. 129), “I fired off a few arrows, as did some of the others. Almost
all of them hit Christians,” (p. 25), “I started to wonder if
the next battle would be against our own brothers again,” (p. 129).
Joyner claims that this civil war will “appear as if it will be the
end of the church,” (p. 37), the “meltdown of Christianity itself”,
(p. 29). This dream doesn’t appear to line up with the following scripture:
“If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand,” (Mk
3; 24).
1 ii) The day of the Lord: Joyner claims that this Christian “Civil War”,
(p. 36), is the “ultimate conflict,” (p. 37), the “battle of
the last days” (p. 115). He believes that his side’s eventual victory
and success in removing all Christian opposition to his side’s leadership
of the church will be “the day of the Lord,” (p.36). This is confirmed
to Joyner by the host of heaven who tell him “the day of the Lord of Hosts
has come”” (p.36). The bible, however, describes the day of the Lord
as follows;
Isaiah 13; v.9, “Behold, the day of the Lord come... both wrath and
fierce anger...To lay the land desolate...v.10, For the stars of heaven... Will
not
give their light...v.11, I will punish the world for its evil, v.12, I will make
mortal man more rare than fine gold.”
